Taking a beautiful but neglected 1940’s historical Gregory Ain modern house, UB added to the existing structure, addressing problematic areas, to transform it into a light filled contemporary home. Materials and finishes were replaced with brighter, more reflective surfaces while still keeping with the historic character of the home. Original maid’s quarters and the kitchen were blown out to create a guest wing and modern kitchen. The back yard was expanded and a dividing wall was removed to open the space, creating a large outdoor living area and a separate kitchen garden.
Furnishings and fixtures were chosen to complete the design and complement the owner’s extensive art collection.
